Interested Team Managers

You can now submit manager interest form for the Spring 2025 season, click on the link below to complete the form.  All requirements below must be completed prior to be assigned to a team.

NOTE:  Not all submissions will be guaranteed a team manager assignment.  Manager assignments are approved by the Board of Directors each season and prior assignment does not guarantee future placement.  Team assignments will be considered by the Board of Directors in accordance with the Mission of OCLL, Little League rules and require successful completion of the 2025 Volunteer Application, Background Screening, and training requirements.

Next Steps

To be assigned to a team ALL Interested Managers are REQUIRED to:

1)
Submit Manager Interest Form (Spring 2025)

2) Register as a Head Coach
in our registration system (required to upload a photo of your government-issued photo ID, such as driver's license, in order to verify/complete background check in the next step.)

3)
Complete Volunteer Application and Background Check (annual requirement). You will receive a link from JDP ([email protected]) with the subject line "ORANGECREST LITTLE LEAGUE Background Questionnaire Notification," typically within 24-48 hours, after you register with background check questionnaire and volunteer application. Please email our Safety Officer if you have any questions about the background check process.

4) Complete required Safety Trainings and upload PDF of corresponding Certificate of Completion to our registration portal. These trainings can be completed before or after you register; however, if you complete after then you will need to come back and upload them to your profile.

Concussion Training - HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training

Scroll about halfway down the page and select "For Coaches: Click HERE to launch the course." You will create a free account to complete the training. Start by completing the pre-assessment before proceeding with the rest of the training content and post-assessment. Upload the certificate to your registration profile.

Abuse Awareness Training Course by Little League

This course, which serves as a replacement for the programs previously available through third-party organizations like USA Baseball, is custom to the Little League program and provides an easier learning experience for our volunteers. Required to be completed by all volunteers each year, this course is available as part of the training and education courses at LittleLeague.org/Training, making signing up for the course even easier for our volunteers.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest - E. Paredes Save A Life Foundation

Little League Diamond Leader Training

At this time, Little League Diamond Leader Training is not required by Little League except for Managers/Coaches of All-Star Teams. Until required by Little League, OCLL strongly encourages all Managers/Coaches to complete.

5) Complete a Live Scan Fingerprinting. OCLL will communicate additional details on an OCLL-hosted event or completing on your own.
 
Manager placements will be finalized and approved by the Board (typically no later than July for Fall and January for Spring). Only interested managers that complete all requirements will be considered for placement.

Coaching Resources

  USA Baseball - Free to register & join - ideas and drills for all ages and skill levels. (Must register as a member of USA Baseball first, then for the Mobile Coach App)
    Little League University - videos and articles with tips and drills, and support for Little League ideals.

Umpire Evaluation Form

Managers Only - this form is intended to be a proactive tool for providing meaningful feedback on umpire performance.  The information provided will be used by the Umpire Chief to review individual umpire performance and work towards overall improvement and may impact assignments.  Evaluations may be shared directly with umpires for training purposes.

Please be honest and thoughtful in your evaluation.  Inappropriate evaluations will be discarded.
